Since its foundation in 1088, the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna has been student-centred and internationally oriented. With five campuses across Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna, and Rimini) and a branch in Buenos Aires, it offers a comprehensive academic portfolio of over 260 degree programmes across 31 departments, tailored to meet the evolving needs of contemporary society.

Within the INSOIL project, the Bologna team leads WP7 about Exploitation strategy aimed at verifying regulatory compliance and ensuring market uptake and impact of INSOIL agriproducts. In particular, UNIBO coordinates Task 7.1 – Exploitation strategy; Task 7.3 Circular business models and Task 7.4 IPR management with the contribution of the UNIBO central offices in charge of knowlege transfer and patent office. Therefore, the team contributes to enhance the impacts of project outputs.
The team is composed of Prof. Angelo Paletta, prof. Simona Cosma, Prof. Selena Aureli, Prof. Magalì Fia, Prof. Murad Harasheh, Dr. Genc Alimehmeti, and Dr. Francesca Regoli and colleagues from the Central office for Innovation Area.
They bring a wide range of expertise in sustainable business models, public policy, digital learning, and impact assessment and IPR. Their interdisciplinary approach ensures strong alignment between the academic strengths of the department and the broader objectives of the INSOIL project.
Angelo Paletta teaches Business Administration and was the Delegate for Budget, strategic planning, and process innovation at the University of Bologna (2016-2021). Currently, he is the Director of the Department of Management. His research focuses on public management, educational leadership and policy, business turnaround and bankruptcy and the circular economy. He has already participated in different Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects focused on sustainability and the circular economy.
Simona Cosma is anAssociate professor confirmed since 2011 with national qualification as full professor since 2018; she works at DISA, University of Bologna, where she teaches Options, Futures and other derivatives, the economics of insurance companies and financial instruments and markets. Her research interests mainly aim at risk management for financial institutions, corporate governance, environmental and social sustainability, and, in particular, biodiversity. She is the author and co-author of many books and articles in national and international academic journals. She currently holds the role of Independent Director at Banca Popolare Pugliese, where she is also a member of the risk committee and delegate to the Board for Sustainability.
Selena Aureli teaches financial reporting, management accounting, sustainability and social reporting. She is Program Director of the International Bachelor Degree in Financial and Business Management at Rimini Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration. Her research and publications cover the fields of performance measurement, management, and the reporting of non-financial performance. Her work focuses on tourism organisations and small and medium-sized enterprises. She is also involved in research on cultural heritage.
Magalì Fia is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management and a member of the Steering Group of the Yunus Social Business Center at the University of Bologna. Her research areas and publications cover topics on business ethics, research and innovation: universities and (social) innovation policies, and social impact issues. They include theoretical and empirical works. She teaches ethics and sustainability in business decisions and sustainability reporting, as well as business ethics & sustainability and social innovation in several master programs at Bologna Business School. She collaborates with public and regional institutions on policy evaluation projects. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of Econometica, the Core Faculty of BBS, and the Evaluation Experts Group for the Italian Research Evaluation Exercise.
Murad Harasheh is an Associate Professor of Finance. His primary research interests are related to corporate finance, firm valuation, energy and commodity finance, and sustainability economics. He is the author of the book Global Commodities: Physical, Financial, and Sustainability Aspects, and of various publications in international journals in finance, business valuation, and energy. He is a research fellow at Yunus Social Business Center at the University of Bologna and a core faculty at Bologna Business School (BBS). Since 2023, he is responsible for the Erasmus exchange with Portuguese universities at Forlì campus.
Genc Alimehmeti has worked at Universities of Tirana, Malta, and Antwerp as a consultant for International Finance Corporation, at the World Bank Group; Delegation of the EU to Albania; TACSO. Now he is a Fixed-term Researcher in Tenure Track at the Department of Management. His research interests focus on bio plastics, circular economy, school leadership, entrepreneurship, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and insolvency. He has published on Educational Administration Quarterly, Educational Management Administration & Leadership Journal; International Journal for Educational Law & Policy; Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance.
Francesca Regoli holds a degree in Political Science with an International specialization and a Ph.D. in International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Policies from the University of Bologna. Since 2012, at the Department of Management she works as research manager for European and international research projects, and international relations. She is responsible for the Office Research, Innovation and Third Mission. She is also supporting the Research Committee of the Department and participates to the activities of the Research Managers Network of the University.
