CAPSULAE is a Research & Innovation center of excellence in the field of ingredient formulation, specialized in microencapsulation. The company is located in La Rochelle, France, and is a subsidiary of Innov’ia, a European Leader for custom powder manufacturing for different markets (human & animal nutrition, crop protection & biocontrol, home & personal care, technical specialties).
CAPSULAE combines more than 30 years of experience in a wide spectrum of technologies, allowing the development of innovative, high-performance and differentiating products, able to meet the needs and expectations of our customers and partners. Our know-how relates more specifically to the following technologies:

Within the framework of INSOIL project, CAPSULAE will lead the design and production of innovative PHA-based microcapsules that will be incorporated into biodegradable, soil-friendly mulch films and plant guards. Also, controlled-release fertilizers will be developed via coating of organic NPK with PHA biopolymer specially formulated for full and programmed biodegradation in the soil. This will ensure the stability and protection of active ingredients during processing and will guarantee that they are delivered to the soil exactly when plants need them, therefore supporting healthier crops while reducing chemical inputs.
The CAPSULAE team dedicated to the INSOIL project is composed of five specialists with complementary expertise, ensuring robust execution of all technical and practical activities.
Dr. Rachelle El Hajj, formulation engineer, contributes her expertise in the development of innovative products, supported by PhD-level experience in modern formulation technologies for the feed and food sectors.
Dr. Arcadie Fuior, formulation engineer with a PhD in chemistry, adds strong experience in environmentally friendly formulations, particularly for biocontrol applications.
Dr. Jérémy Carpentier, Characterization Lab Manager, holds a PhD in biotechnologies focused on valorization of agro-resources. He brings deep analytical expertise and is responsible for the characterization and quality assessment of all formulated products.
Dr. Nicolas Le Goff, Head of the R&I Division at Capsulae, provides strategic leadership across the formulation activities. With extensive experience in delivery systems and advanced formulation technologies, he supports the team with both technical and regulatory guidance.
Dr. Arnaud Picot, IP and Partnership Manager, holds a PhD in food science and has decades-long proven experience in R&I project management and entrepreneurship. Within INSOIL, he oversees the implementation of Capsulae’s technologies and manages intellectual property, partnerships, and resources.
