CO2BIOCLEAN is a biotechnology-driven company specializing in the production and process optimization of PHBV biopolymers via gas fermentation, utilizing CO₂ as a sustainable carbon feedstock. The company focuses on scaling biopolymer manufacturing while tailoring polymer properties such as purity, composition, molecular weight, and processability for specific end-use applications.
Within the INSOIL project, CO2BIOCLEAN is responsible for the industrial-scale production and supply of tailored PHBV grades used in the development of:
• Biodegradable mulch films
• Plant guards
• PHBV-based controlled-release fertilizer (CRF) coatings
• Encapsulation systems for agricultural bioactive compounds
By integrating gas fermentation bioprocess engineering with applied material development, CO2BIOCLEAN converts captured CO₂ into high-value biodegradable polymers that directly support formulation trials, field validation, and scalable, sustainable agricultural solutions.
Within this project, Mr. Josef Glass and Ms. Anusriha Shanmugam will serve as the primary team members working on the INSOIL project.
